At Kihihi Community, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Our mission is to bring lasting support, care, and opportunities to vulnerable children and struggling families in our community. We believe that every child deserves a chance to thrive, and every individual should have the resources to lead a life of dignity and purpose.
Our work focuses on providing essential services such as education, healthcare, food security, clean water, and skill development. We are located along Rukungiri Road in Bugongo Cell, at the heart of Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District, South Western Uganda, we are deeply rooted in the communities we serve.
The community was founded by Hon Kaberuka James Niringiyimana Ruugi as a Director who is currently the area Member of Parliament for Kinkizi West in Kanungu District. A Social Worker by Profession, Kaberuka’s started this school to respond to the cries of the community who were unable to access education. As a servant of the people who is passionate about education, Kaberuka started the school as the best way he could have a long lasting legacy and impact to the community. He was inspired by the poor background in which he grew up from humble beginnings, living a life of scarcity and poverty. “We walked long distances to access education, climbing hills walking barefooted, the best I can do is to help my people access education in their locality” said Kaberuka as he spoke about the dream to start this school.
To- date he continues to support this school to ensure that it transforms communities through producing dependable citizens on top of other spillover effects like job creation, market for local goods and services for the community.
