Located along Rukungiri Road in Bugongo Cell, at the heart of Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District, South Western Uganda, our school is more than an institution; it’s a community of hope and opportunity, committed to providing affordable, quality, and holistic education to the young people in the region. We are a day and boarding school, offering education to both girls and boys from Senior One to Senior Four.

Kihihi Community and Kanungu District generally being an averagely poor community with majority of the families living below poverty line, accessing quality education becomes a nightmare since many schools in the area are expensive. This is exacerbated by other factors like gender discrimination against girls, inadequate secondary schools with many children having to walk long distances to access nearby schools, the terrain of the area making it difficult for children to walk long distance to and from school daily among other factors, physical disabilities by some students among others.
The Directors and Management, in a bid to make it possible for every child to access quality education started this program to support the downtrodden and vulnerable children because it is in education that anyone can be empowered to be innovative, self-reliant and productive. Under this program the school offers bursaries to needy students so that they can also have an opportunity to study.
Under this program, over 100 students are currently being supported with school fees while thousands have been supported over the years. However, the demand for such support continues to be overwhelming day by day as many parents realize the need to educate their children but unfortunately can’t afford. The school has to utilize the limited resources from the few who pay fees in order to cater for the many vulnerable students. Besides this, we also give bursaries based on Academic performance and Sports; The Academic performance are aimed at stimulating the spirit of competition and excellence as a way of motivating our learners to work hard while the Sports bursaries are aimed at promoting student’s talents in the sports.
At Kihihi Community SS, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our students benefit from a holistic learning environment and opportunities that ensure our students are well-rounded, confident, and prepared for the future
